The Great Indian Festival sale 2020 of Amazon witnessed the sale of more iPhones in one day than the entire festival sale last year. After a heavy discount on iPhone 11, it was being sold at ₹47,999. The remarkably low price made Amazon sell a whopping number of iPhones. The e-commerce giant claims that this time the Great Indian Festival has made the biggest ever opening. The sale will go on until October 21. As per Amazon, besides smartphones, consumer electronics coming under OnePlus, Apple, Xiaomi, and Samsung sold record numbers of products.
Talking about popular searches, people searched top-selling electronics consisting of laptops, smartphones, headphones, tablets, cameras, and smartwatches. Also, drones and security cameras listed among popular searches this year and helped Amazon garner a huge number of iPhone sales. On one hand, Apple spearheaded phone sales while on the other hand, laptops from HP, Lenovo, and Asus have been the top-selling brands. People gave preference to Apple and Samsung when it came to tablets.
As per the company, on the first day of sale, Kindle devices were sold 2.5 times more than it did last year. Also, the heavy discounts attracted many buyers to Amazon Great Sale. During the sale period, Amazon’s own Fire TV Stick and Echo entered the top 10 selling products on the website. Apart from this, Amazon has claimed that there has been a rise of 85 per cent people from last year who registered themselves for Prime membership. They got the membership so that they could get early access to the sales that began on October 16.
