App Store made a record $540 million on Jan 1

According to a recent Apple revelation, its App Store spending by Apple customers witnessed a new record on January 1. In an official post by Apple, it stated that its customers spent more than 540 million dollars on the first day of 2021. Apple stated that its customers thronged in 2021 and created a new single-day spending record of more than $540 million on New Year’s Day. The number consists of apps as well as digital subscriptions services provided by the Cupertino-based company.

According to an official Apple statement, during the holiday season i.e. the last week of 2020, the App Store business stood at $1.8 billion. Last year, during the same period, the spending was $1.42 billion. Apple further stated that Disney+ and Zoom were among the popular apps downloaded in 2020. Roblox and Among Us were most popular among users in the games section. 

Apple emphasised on how the apps have become important to stay connected with each other, more so in the last year. It further stated that 2020 has been a year like never before. It further added that apps have become more vital than ever. Apart from this, creators discovered new methods to keep people connected. Its developers have helped users learn and work from home, stay fit and well, and offer much-needed entertainment.

Apple, in the press release, revealed that since its launch in 2008, App Store facilities have earned more than $200 billion. Apple has been in news for last few months since its launched its iPhone 12 series.
