Bajaj Auto crosses market capitalisation of ₹1 lakh crore

Bajaj Auto has achieved a rare feat recently. The Indian firm has become the first two-wheeler company to cross a market capitalisation of ₹1-lakh crore across the globe (approx. $13.6 billion). The announcement came after the company came out with a statement. According to the statement from Bajaj Auto, as compared to all other domestic two-wheeler companies, the market valuation is considerably higher. Apart from this, the official statement quoted many analysts. The analysts had also acknowledged the market capitalisation of more than one lakh crore. The feat has not been achieved before by any international two-wheeler company anywhere in the world.

On Friday, the firm’s share closed at ₹3,479 on NSE. This allowed the auto major a market capitalisation of ₹1,00,670.76 crore. Bajaj Auto is celebrating the 75th year of its operations. This is why the company is apparently highlighting the milestone. Bajaj Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj stated that the company’s emphasis on the motorcycles segment have made Bajaj the most valuable two-wheeler company across the globe. He also talked about his firm’s stanch commitment to tactics of differentiation as well as the practice of TPM. Not only this, the global ambitions of the firm have also been one of the major contributing factors.  

Talking about Bajaj Auto, it is the world’s third-largest manufacturer of motorcycles and the largest manufacturer of three-wheelers. Bajaj has its manufacturing units at Waluj (Aurangabad), Chakan near Pune and Pantnagar (Uttrakhand). For manufacturing premium segment bikes and electric two-wheelers, Bajaj declared establishing its fourth plant at Chakan at an investment of ₹650 crore.
