For batch 2020-22, IIM-A achieves 100 per cent summer placement

In the management batch 2020-22, Indian Institute of Management (IIM)- Ahmedabad has secured 100 per cent placement for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP). According to the IIM Ahmedabad placement cell, the hiring was conducted online on account of the pandemic. For summer placement of 2020, overall, 131 firms participated in the recruitment process and offered 166 different roles. Even with an offer in hand, over 150 students in one of the cohorts made “dream” applications to 202 firms of their choice in a subsequent cluster. This provided them the choice and flexibility to build careers in domains and companies of their preference. It was the first year when the entire process was held online.

The highest number of offers were made by consulting firms and they placed 104 students. After them, the second highest offers were made by consumer goods and services and they placed 83 students. Apart from this, Technology & Internet recruited 77 students while Financial services firms hired 75 students. This year 33 new recruiters participated, including Cipla, Phillips,, Godrej Fund Management, Godrej Fund Management, Unacademy, Reserve Bank of India, Bayer, Atlassian, DuPont, BPCL, Everest Instruments, and Walmart Global Tech.

In the Retain B2B and B2C space, Amazon was the biggest recruiter. Bain & company placed most students in management consulting cohort. Hindustan Unilever Limited made 13 offers in the consumer goods and services sector. In Financial Services cohort, Edelweiss was the top recruiter. In the core manufacturing and infrastructure sectors, Vedanta made 6 offers. For the first time, Unacademy participated in the recruitment process. PwC made the maximum offers – 10 in the Advisory Consulting domain. Placements 2020 took place from December 1, 2020, onwards.
