Bumble debuted its IPO Thursday (11th FEB) at $43. It soared over 70% on trading New York valuing CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd’s stake at over $1.5 billion.

Whitney Wolfe Herd launched the app Bumble in 2014. Before starting Bumble, she was the Vice-President of marketing and Co-founder of Tinder but her abilities and hard work were not taken seriously because of her age (24 years old at that time) and gender. It was difficult for her dominating official heads to digest the capabilities of a woman at such a tender age. She also faced mental and sexual harassment in her workplace but it was not easy to silence her and crush her. She fought back and now is the CEO of Tinder’s rival.
