BUMBLE – An App bridging gaps

The trending topic of discussion all over the world is the rise and success of the dating application Bumble. Whitney Wolfe Herd, the strong headed 31-year-old woman is the founder and CEO of Bumble and now has proudly become the world’s youngest self-made woman billionaire. Bumble debuted its IPO Thursday (11th FEB) at $43. It soared over 70% on trading New York valuing CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd’s stake at over $1.5 billion.

Bumble is an app to build up healthy relations from finding the perfect partner to finding the perfect career. The app is also a zone to make new friends. It is a dating app where the woman has to make the first move i.e. the option in hand to text first. Hence, assuring the ladies a clean and healthy message box. Under the verticals Bumble BFF and Bumble Bizz, the users can also look for their desirable jobs and also make friends with like-minded people.

The app is currently being trusted by over 100 million people of 150 countries. The app is available in India and is backed up by strong ladies. Indian origin global megastar and artist Priyanka Chopra is an investor of Bumble whereas US Tennis star Serena William markets the app.

The app follows a “freemium model”; it allows users to connect with people for free. The app earns most of its revenue from in-app purchases and different subscriptions like Bumble Boost and Bumble Premium.

The star point of the app is that it keeps up with its principle of maintaining and regulating protected and safe environment for its users. It has enabled features where the real identity can be revealed only after a successful match has been chosen.

Whitney Wolfe Herd launched the app Bumble in 2014. Before starting Bumble, she was the Vice-President of marketing and Co-founder of Tinder but her abilities and hard work were not taken seriously because of her age (24 years old at that time) and gender. It was difficult for her dominating official heads to digest the capabilities of a woman at such a tender age. She also faced mental and sexual harassment in her workplace but it was not easy to silence her and crush her. She fought back and now is the CEO of Tinder’s rival.

Bumble is an app by a woman for women where they can safely look for an understanding partner and take the first move. The app’s UI is bright and cheerful and hence is easy and comfortable for its users.
