On October 8, the Indian Air Force (IAF) will be celebrating its 88th anniversary with the yearly parade at the Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad. The celebration includes an air display of numerous aircraft. According to IAF officials, this year will be special as along with other aircraft, the newly-inducted Rafale fighter aircraft will also feature in the IAF Day parade. Air Force Day is celebrated every year on October 8 to mark the day the IAF was established in 1932. The IAF posted spectacular photos of the Rafale aircraft in a series of tweets.
The Rafale is a twin-engine omnirole, air supremacy, interdiction, in-depth strike, 4.5 generation, aerial reconnaissance, ground support, and nuclear deterrence fighter aircraft armed with a wide range of weapons. Apart from the Rafale, the IAF also posted images of other fighter jets like Apache, Rudra, Gajraj, Super Hercules, Tejas. They too will be a part of the parade. IAF also tweeted about ALH Rudra which is an indigenously produced attack helicopter. It is capable of a wide range of missions, including troop transport, anti-tank warfare, reconnaissance, and close air support. The IAF also wrote about Tejas on its Twitter handle. It is an indigenously developed, single-engine, high-agility multirole, fourth generation, and supersonic light combat aircraft. It also tweeted about Mi-17 V5 which is a medium-lift helicopter armed with state-of-art navigational equipment & modern avionics. Both will also be seen at the Air Force Day.
