According to the CEO of Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev, India is looking to generate about 300 million doses of the Russian Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine next year. He stated that they have agreements with four large manufacturers in India. He further added that out of 110 production places that dealt with the production of the Russian coronavirus vaccine, RDIF selected 10 that fit its requirements. He further stated that the Russian Sputnik V will be actively produced across the globe. According to the Russian Embassy in India, the nation is testing the first samples of its Sputnik V.

As per the Russian Government, the provisional results from the Sputnik V clinical trials have displayed that the Covid-19 vaccine was 95% effective. This is on the lines of other global vaccine producers that have also published test results displaying efficiency rates of 90% and above. Apart from this, Russian President Vladimir Putin boasted about Russia being the first country across the globe having invented and begun producing the Covid 19 vaccine.

Before this on Thursday, Putin stated that he was yet to be vaccinated with Sputnik V but that he would do so when possible. In the meantime, Russia has also stated the Sputnik V vaccine will be rated at $10 per dose on international markets. This will cost less than some other listed coronavirus vaccines.
