The biggest telecom company, Reliance Jio is all set to upgrade its network. Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani, an Indian billionaire businessman and the largest shareholder of reliance industries strengthen his promise to offer 5G services on his wireless network by the mid of this year. His company Reliance Industries Ltd. put down a record profit aided by its consumer businesses. At the recent India Mobile Congress (IMC), Mukesh Ambani, chairman of reliance industries announced his telecom venture Jio’s plans to launch 5G technology.
“Reliance jio will evolve the 5G revolution in India by the second half of 2021. It will be powered by an endemic-developed network, hardware, and technology components. Jio’s 5G services will be evidence of your inspiring vision of ‘Atmanirbhar -Bharat’. I can say with utmost confidence that Jio 5G will enable India not only to participate in the fourth industrial revolution but also to lead it,” says Ambani.
The company has already started advanced 5G tests in India and is currently testing transmission speeds via locally-developed equipment.Also, tests on Jio 5G radio integrated with 5G core have conveyed throughout in surfeit of 1 Gbps.
Mr. Mukesh Ambani has also given his word to make the 5G affordable and accessible. According to the reports, he stated, “ Jio will continue to accelerate the roll-out of its digital platforms and indigenously developed next-generation 5G stack and make it affordable and available everywhere.
Jio is determined to make India ‘2G-mukt’(free from 2G network).”
Currently, China has taken the lead in the race of 5G networks. It has blown up the number of 5g base stations, from 1 lac (0.1 million) in 2019 to 7 lac (0.7million) by the November of 2020.
This fiercely- ambitious business tycoon’s target is to take over China and to reach 1.7 million by the end of the year 2021.
