As per a latest report, Netflix has been testing the feature since December 2020. Reportedly, the feature could go live in the coming weeks. The new feature of Netflix will try out Apple’s much sought-after feature for its AirPods Max and AirPods Pro.
A French publication called iPhoneSoft has reported about the news. It quotes an unknown Netflix developer as per whom, the feature is being tested presently and could be introduced soon. As per another report, 9to5Mac noted that it won’t take much endeavours for Netflix to aid support for Spatial Audio. This is because a lot of its content is already in surround sound and supports Dolby Atmos. This also aids virtual surround sound. Spatial Audio will transform Netflix’s surround sound to a more immersive experience with head-tracking features. This will let the sound to move as per a user’s head position. As of now, only Apple TV+ supports Spatial Audio for select content.
For the time being, the Spatial Audio feature is supported on the AirPods Pro truly wireless earphones and the AirPods Max over-the-ear headphones.
