Noida International Airport sign a State Help Deal with the Government of the UP

The Noida International Airport (NIA) and the Uttar Pradesh government signed a “state support deal” on Monday. As a result, the contract outlines the state government’s support for developing and upgrading ground accessibility to the airport, providing and extending services needed to manage the facility, ensuring law and order, ensuring surveillance at key facilities, and issuing the requisite clearances to build and promote this infrastructure plan. The new greenfield airport for the catchment areas of Delhi-NCR, Noida, and Western UP is expected to improve the market. In addition, NIA aspires to be India’s only net-zero-emission airport, with ambitions to develop and use sustainable power.

It is currently inactive talks with the Uttar Pradesh government regarding endorsing initiatives such as VAT or GST waivers on clean energy equipment sales, cross support charges, wheeling or transmitting charges, and open access fee waivers in addition to making conservation initiatives financially feasible. “The government welfare arrangement with Noida International Airport is a big move forward in Uttar Pradesh’s construction of a genuinely world-class airport. We are aiming forward to seeing the airport’s completion because it will generate many opportunities for employment in the region while also signaling growth in the economy,” said Arunvir Singh, NIAL’s Chief Executive Officer.

The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed NIAL as the implementation body. The government of Uttar Pradesh (through the Department of Civil Aviation), NOIDA, Greater NOIDA, and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority formed the joint venture in August 2018. (YEIDA). The business has a Rs 10,000 crore approved capital. On October 7, 2020, the Uttar Pradesh government signed a concession agreement with Yamuna International Airport Private Ltd (YIAPL) to begin construction on the proposed airport. Along with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and its departments, YIAPL is accountable for implementing the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) program.
