OnePlus announces its first wearable fitness tracker

Recently, OnePlus has updated about the OnePlus Band – a fitness tracker. It features blood oxygen saturation and heart rate monitors. Apart from this, it tracks sleep and fitness and comes with a battery life of up to two weeks. At launch, it works with Android but not iOS. As per OnePlus, it will add the compatibility with iPhones later on. In India, the OnePlus Band will be available from January 13 at a price of Rs 2,499. However, its worldwide release is yet to be declared. Besides smartphones, the Band is its latest foray. This also consists of true wireless headphones and TVs. Primarily, the wearable looks as if it has been designed for fitness.

This is because of its ability to track blood oxygen level and heart rate, and its support for 13 built in exercise modes. Nevertheless, it also features sleep tracking and has the potential to work as a phone accessory with support for displaying notifications along with music playback and camera shutter controls. Talking about its hardware, the OnePlus Band comes with a rectangular 1.1-inch OLED display having a resolution of 126×294 and a silicone watch strap. It is available in navy, black, and tangerine grey. Moreover, it has got a dust and water resistance rating of IP68. When it comes to its 5ATM rating, it means it’s water-resistant at a depth up to 50 meters for 10 minutes.

Apart from this, it comes with a 100mAh battery. According to OnePlus, it is good enough to offer up to two weeks of battery life.
