To battle Amazon and Flipkart, Reliance JioMart adds electronics

JioMart of Reliance has now grown the portal into the electronics segment to compete with Flipkart, Amazon and other marketplaces. This comes three weeks after Reliance added the fashion category to its e-commerce venture JioMart. He aimed at JioMart to make inroads into electronics besides smartphones, fashion, healthcare and pharmaceuticals. However, as part of a beta launch, the service is not available across the country. To test the service, Reliance has chosen select areas in Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Kalyan. Amid the ongoing festive season, the venture into fashion and electronics segments also gained importance.

On the other hand, marketplaces such as Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, and others have already kicked off their series of festive sales. JioMart will offer home appliances such as geysers, irons, air purifiers; kitchen appliances including juicers, food processors, gaming consoles and accessories; cameras; TV and audio accessories; sports and fitness, shavers. Apart from this, it will also offer, smart lights and cameras under smart devices; power banks and chargers hairdryers in personal care. This is apart from other electronic accessories such as memory cards, headsets, pen drives, etc. that are currently available. Across various categories, JioMart is offering discounts from as low as 3 percent to more than 60%.

Reliance Retail’s consumer electronics brand Reliance Digital will fulfil the orders for the electronics segment. Under the electronics segment, JioMart has added products from Apple, Seagate, Samsung, Amazfit, Bajaj, Philips, SanDisk, Sony, JBL, and Boat.
