In December, the domestic sales of India’s largest manufacturer of two-wheelers, Hero MotoCorp, rose 3.16% to 425,033 units. This is higher than 412,009 units sold in December 2019. As per the company, the consumer sentiments are likely to recover and the positive trend will continue. Pune-based Bajaj Auto clocked 3.63 percent growth in December to 128,642 units in the domestic market. Bajaj Auto is India’s third largest maker of two-wheelers. This is quite higher as against 124,125 units sold in December 2019. Talking about TVS Motor Company, it witnessed domestic sales rising by 12.5 percent to 176,912 units in December. This is quite better than 157,244 units clocked in December 2019.
Talking about niche bike maker, Royal Enfield clocked the best growth among its peers. Its volumes rose 35% to 65,492 units as compared to 48,489 units clocked in December 2019. The Chennai-based company is India’s fifth largest bike maker. It makes Interceptor and Classic range of bikes. When it comes to India Yamaha Motors, its domestic sales rose by 33% to 39,224 units in December. This is lot better than 29,486 units clocked in the same month in 2019. It is also the maker of Fascino and R15 models. The company assumes overall demand to continue growing in 2021.
Suzuki Motorcycle India witnessed a marginal growth in domestic sales at 44,773 units in December. It is the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation. The company witnessed a rise of 1% as against 44,368 units sold in December 2019. The company manufactures and sells Gixxer and Burgman models.
